Chopard is a company founded in 1860 by Louis-Ulysse Chopard, in Sonvilier (Switzerland). Based in Geneva, Chopard produces high jewellery, high-precision watches and other accessories. In the last few years, Chopard has developed its policy of corporate responsibility with a commitment to support fair and ethical mining practices in order to produce sustainable jewellery. The article: “The Chopard Journey towards Ethical Luxury” aims to analyse, from a legal point of view, Chopard’s work related to ethical mining, by also taking into account the limitations of the Kimberley Process of Certification Scheme for Rough Diamonds.
